Tom Wolf was re-elected governor on Tuesday, cruising to a second term over a Republican opponent who never managed to build a coherent case against the incumbent Democrat.

Pennsylvania GOP gubernatorial candidate Scott Wagner sent a message to his opponent Gov. Tom Wolf in a video Friday, saying, “I’m going to stomp all over your face with golf spikes.”

The lead up to the 2018 mid-term elections has provided plenty of zany fodder from a brilliant political attack ad involving Big Foot to another in which the attack comes from a congressional candidate’s own siblings. But now a less polished clip of a Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial candidate has gone viral as well. And it might be the strangest of them all.

The Republican candidate for Pennsylvania governor—down double-digits in most polls—released a video Friday threatening his opponent Gov. Tom Wolf. Standing next to a chair with a pile of paychecks on it, as the sound of traffic could be heard in the background, Scott Wagner yelled into the camera for a Facebook Live video about his opponent.

It’s not really to Scott Wagner’s credit that he is bad at this. He’s a different type of guy—a self-made waste management magnate who made millions and racked up a bunch of EPA citations and who succeeded and succeeded until the only thing left to do was run for office as a Republican so that he could cut his own taxes.
